Name Sake

Adrian Arthur Ward.

“Ade” was born February 15th, 1915.

My grandfather was a well respected man of society because of his stand up character. Ade had a habit of doing things his way because that’s how they made sense to him. He would also be the first to help others out if he could, and if he couldn’t he would offer up non-judgmental support. It was different times back then; he was married during the great depression with nothing more than a fishing pole to feed his family. Ade overcame adversity in his life with the help of his loved ones and raised a vibrant family, of which I am but one proud product. Adrian Boerboels is based on the fundamental teachings of my grandfather; accountability, purpose and enjoyment. Enjoy life and those around you, give purpose to your being and your pursuits, and be accountable for your decisions. After that everything else will fall into place.

Breeders

~Karlien Greeff~

Karlien has been the ideal mentor; she has answered every question and directed me on my goal. Her kennel is Afrika Boerboels in South Africa where you will continue to see the best of the breed take shape. Her professionalism and understanding of progress through pedigrees are proof in Anoka and Vegas. The Greeff family are one of the few breeders that publicly address the responsibilities in owning a large breed and continue to stay active in breed associations and veterinary seminars.

Other Breeders of Note.

Sascha Ernst is a very confident breeder that has set high standards for the Boerboel and he’s reaching them. Akira Boerboels have very athletic dogs with great temperaments as a result of his dedication. Kobus of Dopper Boerboels is continuing on the tradition as a pioneer in the Boerboel health community. Looking through past and present top scoring Boerboels you will find their kennel name in the pedigree. Lukas van Vuuren has a renewed vision for the Boerboel. Spitsvuur Boerboels is producing very heavily boned and muscled dogs, not to mention the black Boerboel. Lukas knows the importance of pedigrees and has enough experience in different areas of genetics to support his progress. Johan Coetzee has worked hard in getting his breeding stock to the quality it is today. When I spoke to him, Piet-Zyn-Drift had only been breeding for five years. He knows his animal’s strengths and has built upon them producing some of the best breeding stock.
